Facts About Saturn

Saturn can be seen with the naked eye:
It is the fifth brightest object in the solar system and is also easily studied through binoculars or a small telescope.

Saturn was known to the ancients, including the Babylonians and Far Eastern observers:
It is named for the Roman god Saturnus, and was known to the Greeks as Cronus.

Saturn is the flattest planet:
Its polar diameter is 90% of its equatorial diameter, this is due to its low density and fast rotation. Saturn turns on its axis once every 10 hours and 34 minutes giving it the second-shortest day of any of the solar system’s planets.

Saturn orbits the Sun once every 29.4 Earth years:
Its slow movement against the backdrop of stars earned it the nickname of “Lubadsagush” from the ancient Assyrians. The name means “oldest of the old”.

Saturn’s upper atmosphere is divided into bands of clouds:
The top layers are mostly ammonia ice. Below them, the clouds are largely water ice. Below are layers of cold hydrogen and sulfur ice mixtures.

Saturn has oval-shaped storms similar to Jupiter’s:
The region around its north pole has a hexagonal-shaped pattern of clouds. Scientists think this may be a wave pattern in the upper clouds. The planet also has a vortex over its south pole that resembles a hurricane-like storm.

Saturn is made mostly of hydrogen:
It exists in layers that get denser farther into the planet. Eventually, deep inside, the hydrogen becomes metallic. At the core lies a hot interior.

Saturn has the most extensive rings in the solar system:
The Saturnian rings are made mostly of chunks of ice and small amounts of carbonaceous dust. The rings stretch out more than 120,700 km from the planet, but are are amazingly thin: only about 20 meters thick.

Saturn has 150 moons and smaller moonlets:
All are frozen worlds. The largest moons are Titan and Rhea. Enceladus appears to have an ocean below its frozen surface.

Titan is a moon with complex and dense nitrogen-rich atmosphere:
It is composed mostly of water ice and rock. Its frozen surface has lakes of liquid methane and landscapes covered with frozen nitrogen. Planetary scientists consider Titan to be a possible harbour for life, but not Earth-like life.

Four spacecraft have visited Saturn:
Pioneer 11, Voyager 1 and 2, and the Cassini-Huygens mission have all studied the planet. Cassini continues to orbit Saturn, sending back a wealth of data about the planet, its moons, and rings.

If I had 3 wishes

If I had 3 wishes ..........

My first wish would be for our whole intire family to be rich but not to rich just rich enough to get dad a farm get a nanny and cleaner for mum a motor bike for my brother and a pony for me oh and pay the morgage and keep a flash house around us.I want this wish so bad because our family can't buy what we need and want and mum and dad are beginning to explode with there thoughts and dreams.

My second wish is that Carterton gets treated like royalty as our houses need a face lift, Evan though we have wonderfull services and they all look very looked after but there not being visited often and are starting to close down.we need to give Carterton a face lift and maybe we'll be on a tour list.

My third and final wish is that there is peace through out the world so no fighting no killing unless for emergency this is really important we need to creat peace . In siriea and other places around the world people are dieing nearly every 5 minutes . We really need to create world peace.

I beg for theses three wishes to come true because I believe they can

The birch family drama

                                           Chapter 1 
                                        How it started

thump! thump! Lisa could hear Gunther (little buggy) jumping around up stairs she tried to block out the noise with her light purple pillow "noo" she grizzled "i don't won't to get out of bed yet" Lisa rolled out of bed and clambered into the kitchen "morning honey" her mum happily said "mum Gunther keeps on jumping around upstairs and he woke me up" Lisa grizzled "well i was coming to wake you up just after i put a towel under the dish washer,its been leaking"Lisa wasn't  listening she was looking at the TV it was making crazy noises on the carton."Ok im going to go and get Gunther can you please watch the stove for me ill just be a sec"her mum said strongly "yeah ok yeah"Lisa said mindlessly.Lisa looked back she sniffed mmm that smells yummy.Lisa slowly walked over then some steam came up Lisa thought it was smoke and went to run over when she slipped on the wet from the dishwasher and her hand fell on top of the oven and burnt it Lisa screamed "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" her mum came running out and called the ambulance.     



                                              
                                           Chapter 2
                                             I'm fine  
weowewo the ambulance was zooming down the streets "I'm fine mum I really am I just slipped on the floor and banged my hand on the oven and  burnt it I screamed my heart out but I do not want to go to hospital it's to crowded  there are lots of contages flues and not to Mention EBOLA mum please stop this ambulance and let me go home please""Lisa you badly hurt your hand not to mention it nearly fell off your going to the hospital and we'll go from there ok ill be here the whole time you'll be fine. "Ok please try and keep your hand very still well take you in to the DHB" said the ambulance officer Lisa didn't  say a word she was too shocked she was thinking that she might be In hospital for a while and she was really scared about what was going to happen. 




                                           Chapter 3
                                         Signing out
Lisa was walking into the children's word slowly and worrying that she'll get someone mean and will hurt her like on mean nurses (a TV programme) when they would poison the patient  with deadly medicine "hello"  a very kind looking nurse Brock her thoughts "hi" Lisa said quietly "so I hear you got a bad burn on your left hand I believe can I have a look" Lisa rose here left hand slowly scared that the nurse would hurt her and she would create a scene but the nurse was very gentle the nurse  said that she would give Lisa a cast and Lisa could go home with a prescription and some medication.The nurse slowly and gently put the cast on her hand "so whats your name" Lisa quickly replied with "My name is Lisa" "well my name is Annabell "said the nurse "and since you were such a good girl here is a lollypop and a toy kitten. Then Lisa began to think that hospital wasn't so bad after all.


                                           Chapter 4 
                                 getting ready for school

"Thanks"Lisa said "goodbye have a good day come back in six days and we'll see how your hand is ok bye" the nurse said. Lisa and her mum walked out to the lady at the office "hello Lisa birch please" her mum said to the lady at the counter "hello $95 please"Lisa thought that was a lot of money when her mum handed it over but to get a bad burn like that treated how it was that was a good deal.Her mum got the bill and walked out. "Mum whats going to happen when i go back to school" "well ill take you into school tomorrow and you can see how you go if its starts to hurt go to the office and ill come get you ok""ok mum."Lisa said.When Lisa got home she went and sat on the couch "weesa weesa you got saw saw"Gunther said "yeah gunther i am saw and i have a saw saw come watch TV with me come on"later that night when Lisa went to bed she got her books and iPod and turned on the alarm. 



                                        Chapter 5
                               Going back to school 
Beep!Beep!Beep!the sound of the alarm awoke Lisa from her pony dream "oww!"Lisa slowly got out of bed she clambered down into the kitchen "morning honey hows your arm""Fine mum but i don't want to go to school today"Lisa grizzled"you have to I'll go to jail if you don't ""here's some scrambled eggs im going to get gunther when your finished get your lunch from the fridge and put your school uniform on ill be back in a sec"Lisa sculled down her breakfast got her lunch box and put her clothes on She chucked her school bag on her back and waited for her mum."ok lets go"her mum said.Lisa hoped into the car "Mum can we drop off gunther first"'Ok". After They dropped off gunther Lisa went into school "Hi" she said to her friends (Scarlett Ella Keisha)"what happened to your arm""its a long story"Lisa said.



                                        Chapter 6
                         the next check up at the hospital
"Come on Lisa were late Gunther is in the car we have to go now"Her mum said in a rush "Coming" Lisa raced down and into the car. "Lets go mum lets go see Annabell"Gunther said ,Lisa Gunther and her mum raced into the office "Lisa Birch With Annabell Ellsworth please" "Sure please take a seat". Gunther went straight onto the rocking horse mum went on her phone and Lisa went to the reading section. Soon after i had just chosen my book we were called "Lisa birch" Lisa got her sweat shirt and went over to the ward.
"Hello Lisa how are you" "Good"said Lisa the nurse slowly cut the cast Then the nurse noticed an infection in her burn.”excuse me mrs Birch can i please talk to you in private.” the nurse said quietly “sure what's the problem.””well Lisa has a severe infection in her burn called burntrishea its when some sort of germ or bug gets in fresh flesh and can eat the flesh up her arm for more space to be used to lay eggs””well can it be fixed”Lisa's mum said anxiously “yes but it will need a continuous use of injections operations and she will need to stay in hospital for a while

I'm back at school in kauri seeing all my friends is cool 👧👩😺but there's a new kid in kauri who was here two years ago in Totara his name is Marshal he was in Kowhai the first day and kauri the next he was a year 4 and now he's a year 5 in one day and apparently "there was a muck up"🐔. Anyway me Ella Scarrlet Lisa and Keisha were playing a game called rescue the dead awake to find 🙀 its a confusing 😳😓👣name but it Makes sense to me we all got at least one turn and the lucky ones got two.The Ame of the game was to hide in the silliest place and the person who is found first is the person who dies and it just rounds over itself. Any way when we went into the class room mr H 👨🙊(also know as STEVE) was there to great us all I said "HELLO!"Then walked off.Later on in the day we were doing a thing in a group about what we new about Anzac day Keisha was the best at supling all the information along with our ideas. Mean while when me and Sccarrlet were waiting for MR H 👴 to call out the next Question we made up a pizza dude and were laughing hard out 😹👀👹👺💩👽💀❄️☔️🌊 and as I'm writing this I am uesing more than anough stickers 🐢💏💑💃👅☔️👻🎅☎️🎃🎓🎓💝🎎🛀🚿💉🚽💰🔨🚬 

                    BUT I STILL WANT TO SLEEP IN😖 👶👦👧👳😈😤😽😻😸😺👸

Real Art Roadshow

  Hi my name is Emma and our class went to the Real Art Roadshow.Come and see what we did.

 We got down to the truck,slowly walking in,the first capturing thing I saw was the Blanket shark  by Ricky Swallow                                     

  Then as soon as I walked around the corner WOW! I saw some some incredible pictures and paintings like the Tokyo girl number 1 by Harvey Benge

    Suddenly I saw This crazy thing it looked like animal feet 

     turns out it was the DEAD SET 11 BY WARWICK FREEMAN!   yuck and cruel mean

 My favorite drawing was in pencil it was the inferno sketch by Sylvia Siddell I LOVED IT! 

          That was my story it was so much fun at the road show
